OUR MISSION

Oak Tree Family Fund is a non-profit, non-salaried 501(c)(3) vehicle for assisting families whose adolescent children are suffering from mental illness. Our primary goal is to provide financial assistance to adolescents suffering from borderline personality disorder (BPD), particularly those who seek treatment and whose families are financially challenged or come from diverse backgrounds. Our secondary goal is to establish a sustainable fund that lasts beyond our lifetime. Families who demonstrate a strong desire to actively participate in a regimen of professional mental health treatment will be considered for financial support.

Through our varied fundraising efforts, Oak Tree Family Fund provides financial assistance for adolescents whose families cannot afford treatment for a child’s BPD. Since insurance companies don’t cover treatment for BPD, most families face a significant challenge when it comes to paying for treatment. Our goals are to increase awareness about the obstacles families face when trying to get treatment for a child’s BPD diagnosis and to raise funds for scholarships and grants through donations, fundraisers, and events.

Specifically, Oak Tree Family Fund supports scholarships at one of the most respected adolescent mental health treatment programs in the country – McLean Hospital’s 3East Adolescent DBT Programs, which specializes in treating BPD. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, we can provide essential assistance to adolescents and their families who need it, raise awareness about BPD and help change lives.
